Most gun crimes go unsolved, leaving the door open to future violence. We reach those law enforcement can’t, bringing vital resources to high-risk communities.

Other approaches address broad violence prevention and gang violence. We focus only on the people at the core of gun hostilities.

We invest deeply in relationships, listening first and responding with care, credibility, and unwavering commitment. Trust grows because we show up, remain proximate, and walk with our community partners through harm, healing, and hope.

Since launching our work in Richmond California in 2007, we have helped increase and extend the health and lifespan of those at the center of gun violence. 95% of our CVI clients remain alive, 92% remain free of firearm related injuries, and 83% are not a suspect in new firearm crimes.
We ensure quality and consistency
By staying closely connected to the communities we serve through a structured, practitioner-led Community of Practice—fostering continuous learning, reflection, and accountability across CVI sites—allowing us to align what works, strengthen CVI practice fidelity, and adapt with integrity in response to community needs.
We are cost effective
Our work pays for itself if just one homicide is prevented. Between 2018-24, we’ve helped partner cities avoid an estimated $360M and $1.4B in gun violence-related costs.

We will catalyze change by creating an ecosystem to organize, mobilize, and advocate for increased opportunity and expenditure directed towards comprehensive, developmental, community-driven approaches that effectively disrupt gun violence in American urban neighborhoods.
