Technical Assistance & Strategic Support
Advance Peace provides hands on technical assistance and strategic guidance to help cities, agencies, and organizations build, strengthen, and sustain effective Community Violence Intervention (CVI) infrastructure. Our goal is to help partners move from isolated efforts to integrated systems that promote safety, healing, and accountability across communities.

We work closely with municipal leaders, public health departments, community-based organizations, and funders to design and implement strategies that reduce gun violence and enhance coordination among key partners. Through data informed planning, leadership coaching, and field-based consultation, we help communities create strong foundations for long term impact.

Our technical assistance services include:
- CVI System Design and Implementation: Support for cities and organizations developing or expanding CVI initiatives, including program structure, staffing, and operational standards.
- Strategic Planning and Leadership Development: Guidance for executives and local leaders on policy alignment, funding strategies, and cross sector collaboration.
- Program Evaluation and Learning: Tools and processes to track outcomes, strengthen accountability, and promote continuous improvement.
- Capacity Building for Local Partners: Customized consultation to enhance administrative systems, financial management, data collection, and reporting.
- Collaborative Ecosystem Development: Support for aligning efforts among law enforcement, social work, mental health, public health, and community-based partners to ensure coordinated and effective responses to violence.
Advance Peace brings deep experience, national credibility, and a community centered approach to every partnership. Whether building a new CVI program or refining an existing one, our team helps translate vision into action and ensures that strategies are practical, measurable, and sustainable.
A National Community of Practice
Advance Peace sustains a structured Community of Practice (CoP) that connects partner cities and practitioners into a national learning network. This framework ensures that no city works in isolation. Through peer exchange, facilitated learning sessions, national convenings, and shared tools, the CoP strengthens implementation quality, reinforces best practices, and creates a trusted space for ongoing support.
City leaders, violence interventionists, program directors, practitioners, and funders engage in collective problem-solving and continuous improvement—advancing both local outcomes and the broader field.
The CoP deepens relationships across regions, builds leadership capacity, and strengthens alignment around a shared vision: creating safer neighborhoods for those most impacted by gun violence.
Become a Partner
Advance Peace forms formal partnerships through contracts and memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with cities, organizations, and funders committed to ending cycles of trauma and building safer communities. Our work is grounded in collaboration, transparency, and a shared belief that investing in people creates lasting peace.
We partner with city and county leaders, foundations, and community-based organizations to implement the Peacemaker Fellowship® and strengthen community violence intervention efforts.
Our partnership models are tailored to local goals, capacity, and context.
Partnerships may include program development, technical assistance, research and evaluation support, and joint training opportunities—each guided by a clear scope of work and shared accountability to advance a national movement of healing-centered, credible messenger-led practice.
