Our Work in Action

Advance Peace has proven that community-led solutions save lives, restore trust, and strengthen cities. Our work shows that when you invest in people instead of punishment, the return is measurable, lasting, and transformative.

Across every city where Advance Peace has operated, we have seen reductions in gun violence, improvements in community relationships, and greater collaboration among local systems. Independent evaluations and city data confirm that the Advance Peace Peacemaker Fellowship® and related Community Violence Intervention (CVI) strategies produce real results.

Our Impact Includes:

  1. Significant Reductions in Gun Violence: Cities that have implemented the Peacemaker Fellowship® have experienced measurable declines in shootings and homicides, with reductions ranging from 20 to 40 percent during implementation periods.
  2. Cost Savings for Cities and Communities: Every shooting prevented saves hundreds of thousands of dollars in emergency response, policing, medical costs, and court expenses. Advance Peace programs save cities millions of dollars each year while strengthening local capacity and public safety.
  3. Healing and Opportunity: Participants in the Peacemaker Fellowship® and related programs gain access to education, employment, housing, mental health support, and healing centered care, leading to long term personal and community transformation.
  4. Stronger CVI Ecosystems: Through training, technical assistance, and professional development, Advance Peace helps build coordinated networks that align law enforcement, social work, mental health, and public health around shared goals of prevention and care.

Where We Work and Have Worked

Our impact is seen not only in data but in the stories of change — the young people choosing new paths, the outreach workers mediating conflicts before violence occurs, and the neighborhoods reclaiming a sense of peace.

Advance Peace continues to evaluate, document, and share these outcomes to strengthen the growing CVI movement and demonstrate that investing in people is the most effective way to create safer, thriving communities.
